Abscess drainage and CaOH2

Can CaOH2 be placed in a patient with ongoing active abscess drainage?

Translated version of the Turkish original

In this situation, drainage will continue, so if we place CaOH2, the patient’s pain may increase. The canal can be left empty and the tooth can be sealed with a temporary filling. Effective drainage can be achieved with dressings as frequently as possible. Once drainage has decreased, a medicament can be placed in the canal.
