Difficulty progressing in mesial canals of lower molars and anatomy
I struggle to reach the apex in the mesial canals of lower molars; sometimes I hit something and cannot progress. What could cause this?

Catching in the isthmus region between the canals or apical ramifications may be causing this. The coronal region can be opened up with rotary files, and an attempt can be made to negotiate past it using a precurved “dentsplt”-type C-file.
