Findings in vertical root fracture and the limits of tomography
Is it possible to detect a vertical fracture during root canal treatment?
Translated version of the Turkish original
An isolated deep pocket, considerable loss of structure in the canal or tooth, a coronally located fistula and a J-shaped lesion are indicators of a vertical fracture. If the tooth has a filling, the old filling should be removed for diagnosis and the presence of a fracture should be examined under magnification and illumination.
