Extrusion of root canal sealers and apical plug materials: differences in products and anatomy

In a webinar, a lecturer made a statement about bioceramic material along the lines of: there is no problem with extrusion, it does not cause flare-ups and it causes minimal trouble. Then the lecturer explained in detail what should be done to avoid extrusion, such as dispensing it coronally and keeping it 1–2 millimeters short of the canal length. In some cases abroad, I see Dr.Rico Short deliberately extruding it. What do you think about this, Doctor? Large lesions regress even with extrusion, but is there a possibility of complications such as paresthesia?

Translated version of the Turkish original

It can cause paresthesia and must definitely not be extruded. If it is extruded into soft tissue, it can cause problems because of the high pH, but there is generally no problem in bone tissue.
